ABOUT DEPARTMENT

In view of the ever increasing demand for petroleum and petrochemicals as energy resources and for consumption as commodity products, a curriculum in the branch of Petrochemical Engineering was evolved by Anna University, Chennai. R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul takes pride in offering this high technology oriented professional degree course to young students aspiring for a challenging career.

The students are trained by qualified, experienced, and competent faculty in an atmosphere that is highly conducive to the teaching learning process. Because of this well designed and unique approach, the students are fully equipped to take responsibilities in the Oil & Gas Sector and also in fine chemical industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Agrochemicals, Polymers, Paints, Pigments, Dyes, Textiles, Ceramics, Paper & Pulp, and Food & Biotechnology related industries.

Having realized the importance of developing overall personality, character, and leadership qualities, students are motivated to participate in co curricular, extra curricular, social, and adventure activities throughout the year. This helps in developing winning personalities capable of facing future challenges in the industry.

The Petrochemical Engineering Department aims at preparing world class technocrats who are fit to take on challenging engineering responsibilities across the entire value chain in the oil and gas industry globally — a specialization that has seen growing demand in recent years with its focus on petrochemical engineering.
