The Department of Information Technology established in 2022 is recognized by AICTE and Affiliated to Anna University.The Department offers a four-year degree program in Information Technology renowned for its academic excellence. It has significantly transforming students into accomplished IT professionals.

The Department boasts State -Of -Art facilities, including advanced laboratories, smart classrooms and a library that supports e- learning.

Our students gain substantial Industry exposure through guest lectures and workshops led by industry experts. We also encourage students to participate in corporate In-plant Training and Industrial visits each semester, providing them with valuable real-world experience. Various value-added courses are offered to further enhance our student’s knowledge. Motivational classes are held to encourage active participation in all aspects of their education.

To keep students engaged and refreshed, the Department organizes various events include quizzes group discussions, mobile App Development and presentations on innovation.Additionally, we provide individual attention to nurture our students in to responsible citizens who can contribute constructively to the industry and society.

Programme Education Objectives(PEO)

1.The graduates of Information Technology program will be prepared to gain employment as an IT professional.

2.The graduates of Information Technology program will function effectively as individuals and team members in the workplace, growing into highly technical are project management and leadership roles.

3.The graduates of Information Technology program, if they are inclined, will be able to continue their formal education and be accepted to relevant  post-graduate degree programs and succeed in these studies.

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics,science, fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex technological problems.
  2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review, research literature, and analyze complex technological problems researching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex technological problems and design system components or process that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, the cultural, societal, and environmental consideration.
  4. Conduct Investigation of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques,resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex technological activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, cultural, issues and consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Laboratory Details

Computer Programming Lab is a learning setup which was started in 1985 at R.V.S College of Engineering and upgraded with the latest configuration of Computers as when required.

Computer Programming lab is a space where students will gain strong practical and technical skills in various programming languages including C, Python and Java, UNIX/Linux: shell, tools, utilities and programming environments, user interfaces, and software engineering principles.

The interactive experiments in this lab will give the students an opportunity for learning and better understanding of the basic concepts and constructs of computer programming as well as advanced methodology concepts like Deep Learning, Big Data Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence etc.
