  • Course Overview
M.E. (Thermal Engineering) is a two year Post graduate course having an intake of 24 seats. The minimum eligibility for studying this course is having an undergraduate degree in B.E or B.Tech degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automobile or any equivalent engineering degree. Thermal engineering course provides profound knowledge in areas such as IC engines, turbo machines, heat transfer equipments, Refrigeration and air conditioning. This course gives a better platform for the students to take up research as their career in industries or academia.
  • Course Breakup
    I Year
Studying the advanced subjects on Thermal engineering like
    Advanced thermodynamics
    Advanced heat transfer
    Advanced engineering fluid mechanics
    Advanced Internal combustion engineering
    Nuclear engineering
    Computational fluid dynamics
    II Year
Focusing on the design of thermal equipment and applications of thermal engineering
    Design of thermal systems
Design and analysis of turbo machines
    Advanced Power plant engineering
Cogeneration and Waste heat recovery systems
The students have to do a project for two semesters (Phase I and II) based on innovative idea or recent research in any one area of Thermal engineering.
  • Career Opportunities
Thermal engineering is one of the highly challenging fields and there are a lot of career opportunities in this field, both in private and public sectors. R&D engineers or Production engineers in boiler, automotive, pump, alternative energy industries are some of the scope. Professionals in this field can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and colleges. This field has lot of opportunities for those who want to pursue a career as a researcher.
